SOLAR OWNERSHIP • CLEAR PRICING • YOUR CHOICE OF LENDER

Your solar. Your system. Your choice.

ABC Solar does not offer financing or leases. We design and install solar and battery systems for customers who purchase their equipment. If you need to borrow, we suggest starting with your bank or credit union to discuss a home equity line of credit (HELOC).

Our policy is simple

We sell and install solar and storage systems. We do not provide financing or offer leases. Any borrowing is arranged independently by you with the lender you choose.

Start with the installed system price and a clear scope of work. Then decide how to pay for the project.

Our suggestion if you need to borrow: a home equity line

ABC Solar suggests talking with your bank or credit union about a home equity line of credit (HELOC). It gives you a way to arrange borrowing directly with a lender while purchasing and owning your solar equipment.

We favor this approach because it lets you evaluate the installation price and the borrowing terms separately. Ask your lender to compare the total cost, fees and repayment terms with other available options.

Choose terms that protect your household budget

A HELOC is secured by your home. If you cannot repay it, you could lose your home. Rates are usually variable, and payments can rise when rates change or the repayment period begins. A HELOC is not automatically the safest or least expensive choice for every homeowner.

Read the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s explanation of HELOCs.

Questions to ask your bank or credit union

  • What is the interest rate, and can it change? Is a fixed-rate option available?
  • What closing costs, annual fees or early-closure charges apply?
  • What will I pay during the draw period and during repayment?
  • How much could my payment increase, and is a lump-sum payment required?
  • What is the total borrowing cost under the repayment schedule I plan to use?

Choose payments you can afford without depending on projected solar savings to cover the debt.

Paying from your own funds

Purchasing without borrowing avoids loan interest and lender fees. Consider the project cost alongside the cash reserves you want to keep for household needs and unexpected expenses.

Begin with the right system and a clear proposal

Your energy needs

Share your electric bills, property address and goals for bill savings, battery backup or future electric vehicle charging.

Your installation proposal

Ask us about equipment, system size, installation scope and project pricing. Take that proposal to your lender if you choose to borrow.

Our role is to design and install your system. Your lender handles any credit application, approval and loan terms.
