Solar Saves Seafood

ABC Solar Inc. Moves into Berth 57 at AltaSea to Launch Groundbreaking Solar Saves Seafood Initiative

Los Angeles, CA – November 16, 2024 – ABC Solar Incorporated, a leader in renewable energy innovation, is proud to announce its expansion into Berth 57 at AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles, a world-class innovation hub dedicated to ocean sustainability. From this strategic new home, ABC Solar will spearhead its Solar Saves Seafood initiative, an ambitious program that aims to revolutionize fisheries and coastal communities in Los Angeles, Louisiana, and beyond.

Empowering Coastal Economies with Clean Energy

The Solar Saves Seafood initiative harnesses solar power and electric vehicle (EV) technology to transform fishing fleets into clean, sustainable powerhouses. By converting diesel-powered fishing boats into EVs equipped with Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) capabilities, ABC Solar aims to create a ripple of renewable energy innovation that will extend across the Pacific.

"Berth 57 is the perfect launchpad for Solar Saves Seafood," said Bradley Bartz, founder of ABC Solar Incorporated and the Louisiana Future Projects Corporation, a nonprofit organization supporting global renewable energy projects. "Here, we’re combining solar innovation, ocean technology, and community development to turn fishing fleets into mobile power stations that can energize entire villages."

Solar-Powered Fishing Fleets: A Game-Changer

"Our mission is to electrify fisheries, power homes, and build a cleaner future," Bartz said. "AltaSea provides the environment and resources we need to bring this vision to life and create a global impact."

A Ripple Across the Pacific Starting in Los Angeles

The Solar Saves Seafood initiative begins right here in Los Angeles, where innovation meets sustainability at AltaSea’s Berth 57. From this hub of renewable energy and ocean-focused development, the program will prototype solutions to electrify fishing fleets, integrate solar-powered microgrids, and transform coastal economies.

By establishing its foundation in Los Angeles, Solar Saves Seafood leverages the city’s robust infrastructure, access to cutting-edge technology, and global connections. This first phase will serve as a demonstration of the initiative’s scalability and its potential to uplift coastal communities while significantly reducing environmental impact.

From Los Angeles, the program will expand its reach across the Pacific, with plans to bring this innovative model to coastal regions in Papua New Guinea, Southeast Asia, Oceania, and beyond. The vision is clear: to spark a wave of renewable energy transformation that empowers communities and protects the environment across the globe.
